Garage Door Screens

Garage door screens turn your garage into a huge screen porch making the summer that much more enjoyable. Your garage becomes a large safe play area for the kids or a comfortable place to watch the world go by free from the summer bugs.

If you have always wanted a screen porch in the front of your house but don't want to go to the expense of installing one then perhaps garage door screens are the way to go.

Garage door screens are usually attached to your garage door by means of velcro and can be removed for storage when not in use. They are available in sizes to fit Single and Double Car garages.

How a Garage Screen Door Works

The Garage screen door is mounted on the bottom of the garage door. When the garage door is open, the garage screen door can be unclipped and unrolled so that it drops down to to the floor and completely covers the garage door opening. After use, you roll the garage screen door up and re-clip it so that the garage door can be used as normal.

Here are some examples.

Other types of garage screens are retractable. These are built like huge window blinds and can even be motorized just like the garage door itself. The retractable garage screens drop down from above the garage door and slide down between the garage door track and inside wall of the garage.

The screening used in garage screens can be regular fiberglas screening but more often the solar guard screening is being used. This material is easy to see though from the inside of the garage but provides privacy from the outside as well as protection from the suns ultraviolet rays. Manufacturers are offering much more than the regular old black and gray screens. Even custom printing can be done on your garage screens should you wish to show the stars and stripes or your marine corps emblem to the world.
