Aluminum Screen Porches

Aluminum screen porches are made up of "C" shaped aluminum channels, "H" shaped aluminum channels and prefabricated glazing or screen panels. The Glazing and screen panels use the same frame construction as an aluminum storm door. Except there are no hinges, it's just a rectangular panel with a variety of window/screen combinations.

Provided you have a an existing flat foundation, you can lay the "C" shaped aluminum channels down to define the perimeter of your screen enclosure. Other "C" Channels are then attached vertically to the walls of your house and across the ceiling and floor. Vertical corner posts are made using a 90 degree corner channel.

From these components you can build up almost any shape of screen enclosure

Aluminum Enclosure Components

The picture shows the 1-3/4" storm door extrusion that all the glass and screen panels in aluminum screen porches are made from. The storm door extrusion is strong enough to be made into very large panels and allows the porch to have operating windows, solid walls of glass, screens from top to bottom or any configuration the homeowner needs. If a storm door is required on the enclosure, there will be no problem matching the door to the enclosure since its made from the exact same material.

The other picture shows the "C" Channel that is used to build the bottom, top and side frame of the enclosure. The "C-Channel is fastened down to the concrete pad and to the brick with concrete screws and the edges are caulked to make the enclosure totally waterproof.

Angle Channels and Joiners

These pictures show the angle channels that are used where two screen room panels meet in a 90 degree corner. The angle channel joins the two panels together and makes a clean neat corner for the screen enclosure.

Aluminum Screen Porches 004This picture shows the H Channels which are used to join panels together along the length of the enclosure. The H Channel overlaps the panels so that a strong joint is created that can tolerate settling and movement of the panels over time.
